Ingredients
1/2 cup
Flour
1/4 teaspoon
Pepper
1/2 teaspoon
Salt
1/2 teaspoon
Onion powder
1/2 teaspoon
Garlic powder
2 tablespoons
Olive oil
4 1 pound
Cube steaks
FOR THE MUSHROOM GRAVY:
1 tablespoon
Olive oil
1/2 of an
Onion (sliced)
6 ounces
Mushrooms (sliced)
1 cup
Beef broth
1 package
Onion soup mix
1 teaspoon
Cornstarch
1 tablespoon
Water
Step by Step Instructions
- Mix the flour, pepper, salt, onion, powder and garlic powder together in a small bowl. Coat the cube steaks with the mixture on each side.
- Add the olive oil to a skillet and heat to medium-high. Cook the steaks for 3 to 4 minutes on each side. Remove the steaks from the skillet and set them aside.
- Add more olive oil to the skillet and saute the onions for 4 to 5 minutes. Add the mushrooms and let them cook until they are tender & golden. Add the beef broth & soup mix and stir until the mix has dissolved.
- Whisk the cornstarch and water together in a small bowl. Stir the mixture into the skillet, then add the cube steaks back into the gravy and let simmer until the sauce thickens.
